Title I

TITLE I

Title I is a Federally funded program that provides financial
assistance to school districts. The amount of funds given to
each school district depends on the number of low-income
families that are enrolled in the schools.

The purpose of Title I is to "ensure that all children have
the opportunity to obtain a high-quality education,
and reach proficiency on challenging state academic
content and student academic achievement standards".

All of the schools in Northampton County are schoolwide
Title I schools serving all students in the school. Title I funds
and other educational funds may be combined to carry out
schoolwide activities to implement the most effective
strategies to raise student achievement levels.
