Northampton County Schools would like to recognize one of its own. Keion Crossen is an American football cornerback for the New England Patriots of the National Football League. He played college football at Western Carolina. Keion and his Patriot teammates will be playing the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII Sunday, February 3, 2019. NCS Congratulates Keion and his Patriot teammates on winning the National Football league's AFC title and representing the conference in Super Bowl LII.

KEION'S BIO:

Keion Crossen attended Northampton County Schools. He is a 2014 graduate of Northampton County High School. He was an honor student, graduating in the top of his class. Keion was scholar-athlete. He excelled in both academics and sports. He not only played football, but he also played basketball, baseball, and ran track. In football, Keion played the positions of quarterback, defensive back, and kick returner. He received the WRAL TV5: Extra Effort Award in the spring of his senior year. Keion completed his high school football career with 2,191 yards; 25 touchdowns; 60 solo tackles/21 assisted, and 9 interceptions. He was named N.C. Preps 1-A All-State as a defensive back; earned "best camper" title at the Steve Wilkes Defensive Back Camp. He also ran track finishing second in the state at the 1-A level in the 400-meter dash. After graduating high school, Keion attended Western Carolina University where he played football and ran track. His career record at WCU is just as impressive: Recorded 165 tackles over his four-year career including 106 solo stops and five tackles for loss; finished with three career interceptions. He was a two-time SoCon Defensive Player of the Week during his career, earning the honor in both his junior and senior seasons. Keion was drafted in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft with the 243rd overall selection by the New England Patriots.
