The 2020-2021 academic year was unlike any other. Recognizing COVID-19 impacted many students and created missed learning opportunities, Northampton County Schools is launching a summer line up that aims to meet the educational recovery, social, emotional, and physical needs of students. Each session is unique and different. Most programs are available for students entering kindergarten through 12th grade and are aligned with district and state goals for students whose learning was affected by the changes COVID-19 caused on this school year.Site Locations will be the following:Elementary - Central Elementary, Gaston Elementary and Willis Hare ElementaryMiddle School - Conway Middle SchoolHigh School - Northampton County High SchoolDates: June 1-July 28 for High School and June 8-August 12 for Elementary and Middle SchoolStudents who are unsuccessful on their state exams in the Fall of 2020 or this Spring 2021 will be able to retake their assessments during the designated week for their grade level. All students will be given a diagnostic assessment that helps determine their individual learning path for success.Students will continue to have access to our free online tutoring platform www.tutor.com and are encouraged to utilize it when they need assistance. This provides 24/7 access to certified teachers in all content areas for grades 3 through 12.Students log in using their powerschoolID@ncs and birthdate as their password mmddyyyy format.We are excited about your scholar joining us and want this summer to be fun while educational. Northampton County Board of Education
The Northampton County Board of Education will convene in a Special Call Meeting on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. Other than convening and adjourning in open session, the only item on the agenda will be a closed session to discuss personnel. The meeting will be held in-person in the Board Room of the Northampton County Central Services located at 701 N. Church Street in Jackson, NC.
