Northampton County Board of Education
Board Meeting on Monday, March 8, 2021
WHAT: The next regular Board Meeting of the Northampton County Board of Education is scheduled for Monday, March 8, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.
The March 8, 2021 Northampton County Board of Education regular business meeting will be held virtually. However, in order to honor social distancing requirements and to provide a safe way for the public to view the meeting, the public will have the ability to view the public portions of the meeting via live stream as noted below. The Board is also committed to providing opportunities for members of the public to provide public comment without having to attend the meeting in ways that resemble as closely as possible the normal processes for in-person public meetings as detailed below.
The Board will convene the meeting in open session at 3:00 p.m. The Board will go into closed session for personnel at that time and return to open session for the regular business meeting at 4:00 p.m. Members of the public will have access to view all public portions of the regular meeting (i.e., every part except closed session):

In compliance with Board Policy 2310, each month, the first part of at least one regularly scheduled board meeting will be set aside for citizens to address the board through public comment. Each speaker will receive three minutes to present comments. A sign-up sheet will be available in the Public Affairs Office for any individual or group to indicate their desire to address the Board. The deadline is 10:00 a.m. the day of the board meeting. Any individual or group can sign-up by contacting Mr. Mark Barfield, Public

The public comment portion of the regular business meeting will be held at the time shown on the agenda. Members of the public will have the opportunity to submit public comments in one of two ways: (1) sign up in advance to have their comments broadcast live on the video and audio feeds; or (2) submit a written comment by email during the designated time period to be read aloud by staff. Each person is limited to one public comment, whether written or spoken, per meeting.
Rules of Order and Decorum
All of the Board’s normal rules of order and decorum for public address apply to comments submitted by telephone or in writing. The Chair may rule written comments out of order in the same manner as spoken comments.
